Below Deck‘s Captain Kerry Titheradge poked fun at the prospect of taking off his shirt.

During the Monday, September 8, episode of the hit Bravo series, the last guests of the charter season asked deckhands Kyle Stillie and Damo Yorg to “be shirtless” before taking them on a ride in the water.

Kerry showed his support for the request.

“Well we are here to please, right?” he said before elaborating in a confessional. “I am loving their energy. They are flirty and fun but I don’t see them crossing the line.”

Kerry added: “If I didn’t have a dad bod, my shirt would be off too.”

Season 12, which premiered in June 2025, offered some rare insight into Captain Kerry and his personal life. A June episode mentioned his girlfriend, Ghönül Bihan, when he discussed how they originally met.

“My girlfriend, they get one day off a week [on their boat],” he told stew Barbara Kulaif. “She worked for me when I was married. A few years later, I said, ‘How about we go out for dinner?’”

Captain Kerry joined Below Deck in season 11 after previously starring on the short-lived Below Deck Adventure spinoff. He took over for Captain Lee Rosbach, who was on Below Deck since it originally premiered in 2013.

“That came right out of left field. I did not see that one coming at all,” Lee exclusively told Us Weekly in May 2023. “[I was told], ‘We would like to move in a new direction.’ But I mean, that’s kind of a cliché that everybody uses when they find themselves in that situation where they’re going to let somebody go. ‘I’m going to move in a new direction. We want to freshen it up a little.’ [They are] tired clichés that get overused.”

Over the years, Below Deck fans have become familiar with many captains — and some made more memorable impressions than others. Below Deck, which premiered in 2013, explored the glamorous world of yachting and the not as beautiful behind-the-scenes situations that the crew must handle. The first season introduced viewers to Captain Lee Rosbach and […]

Kerry, meanwhile, was thankful for all the Below Deck captains for welcoming him into the franchise.

“Everybody [reached out]. On the way down to Grenada, I was chatting with Lee in the car. He was talking about the boat. He talked about Fraser [Olender] and Ben [Willoughby],” he explained to Us in May 2024. “[Captain] Jason [Chambers] reached out. [Captain] Glenn [Shephard] reached out. We pick on each other a lot, so he calls me his stunt double. It’s a big family. We genuinely are. It’s great.”

Kerry previously discussed taking over after Lee led the show for 10 seasons.

“I know I have big shoes to fill — but I like it that way,” Kerry said during a 2024 episode of the show. “We all have good days full of rainbows and unicorns and then we have some bad days. I expect perfection. You work hard, you will be rewarded. You f*** around, and I will f***ing turn in a heartbeat.”

Below Deck airs on Bravo Mondays at 8 p.m. ET. New episodes stream the next day on Peacock.
