I don’t live in a cardboard box. But I have chosen to live a smaller, minimalist lifestyle. I found a home that has just enough space for my needs. Then I customized my space to be functional, without any extra fanfare. I chose low-maintenance as much as possible, to keep my home easy to care for.
When I first downsized, I expected the biggest change to be about physical space. I had to get rid of a lot, and find creative ways to store the things that were most practical or important to me. What I didn’t anticipate was how much it would shift my perspective on life itself.
Living with less taught me to reevaluate what truly matters — not just possessions, but how I spend my time, energy, and attention. It became less about what I have and more about who I want to be and how I want to live.
